Hi, Coach Dimitar:
The following is a testimony for Sherry's experience in your soccer camp last summer. You can use it for the camp if appropriate. Thanks.
Feng Xie, Great Falls, Va   -   June 2012
My daughter loves soccer. Her dream is to represent USA in the world cup. Since age five, we have gone through many teams, from recreational teams, SFL teams, All Star teams and a travel team. However, none of her coaches taught soccer with a systematic approach, emphasizing the fundamentals. For a while, I had seen very slow progress in her skills. As a dedicated soccer parent, I wanted to help, but didn’t know what to do. I had little knowledge of soccer and relied on coaches to teach my daughter.
The answer to my troubles came in the form of a small flyer for a summer soccer camp. I drove over to the camp location several times and watched the kids practice. I saw a challenging but fun atmosphere. Comparing with other soccer camps that I had visited, this was the only one which teaches kids serious soccer. The coach, Dimitar Dimkov, was very clear about how soccer worked. He had methodic teaching methods. As he explained his beliefs about learning fundamentals first, I realized that this was probably the best fit for my daughter. In the camp, she had learned so many techniques that can actually be used in games. It was an eye-opening experience for both of us. For the first time, we learned that there are over 9 different ways to stop the ball and 7 ways to kick it.
I plan to have my daughter return to Dimitar’s camps this summer. My only regret is not finding this opportunity sooner.
