Sponsorship & Vision

Sponsor
Dimitar Soccer cherishes the support of the community in giving the highest opportunities to all children regardless of income or background.  Unfortunately, some of the brightest soccer futures in our area don't find the proper nourishment to excel because of money alone.  If you would like to sponsor a child or team with scolarship, we welcome your call and support.

New Vision
The truth sets us free and only truly free people can play soccer. When the truth itself becomes more than the meaning of a simple word, it is necessary to demand it from our officials. If that scares them, they need to step aside and give others the opportunity to change the way.  Below is Dimitar Soccer's letter to Donald Trump addressing the need for reform in local soccer communities:

 ****
Dear Mr. Trump,

Please allow me to introduce myself. I have 45 years of experience in European football, of these 13 years teaching soccer in the United States. I am confident that with the involvement of eminent individuals like you, soccer in the US can advance tremendously so that there are no more disappointing results (at the last World Cup tournament, the US National Soccer Team lost to Ghana twice). I firmly believe that the establishment of a soccer league, with your kind permission carrying your esteemed name – The Trump Soccer League (TSL) - will help improve the current organization of soccer in the United States and avoid major drawbacks, as we see them:

1. Lack of professionals with sufficient experience in coaching young talents;

2. Frequent long travel during weekends to play against teams not better than the teams from the neighboring cities;

3. Referees who often apply their own rules, and cannot grasp the spirit of the game;

4. Officials, volunteers, and leaders who treat soccer as their ownership where privilege is granted to family members and close friends;

5. Great initiatives such as “positive coaching” are misconstrued to mean no outburst of emotions, block the flow of current information, eliminate uneasy questions, and extinguish the fervor of the game as a whole;

6. The efforts and skills of numerous former professional players, coaches, and experts who work tirelessly and wholeheartedly at practice and during competitions are often underestimated;

7. Lack of awareness that individual training is key; indeed, soccer is a team sport, but until the age of 16, every team player needs a one on one practice to focus on their individual needs - strengthen their core, or perfect certain skills, or go a step further than the typical high school tryout or making the college team;

8. Absence of a mechanism, control body or established authority that would evaluate, assess or decide who in the US holds back and who truly contributes to the development of the great game of soccer;

9. The answers are in the silence, accumulated over the years. If you dare express indignation, be sure to expect revenge - this is the relentless rule of keeping the status quo (I know it first hand from personal experience). Revenge comes in different shapes - through false “red flags” to higher authorities, activists or circle of friends, through manipulation of referees, parents, or even children, which is unpardonable. It is no wonder that over the last several years in my home state Virginia there is a growing number of soccer experts who are bitterly disappointed, and many more enthusiasts, who dare not speak up any longer.

There are hundreds of soccer fields, thousands of young talents, millions of dollars from federations, associations, advertisements, and sponsors; add the training fees paid by parents, and we are close to a billion. And yet, there is no Virginian that has made it to DC United, or to the US National Soccer Team! It may sound like too strong of a statement, but it is our strong desire to avoid all this in our vision for a Trump Soccer League. We very much hope you would support the idea.

Why is it a sustainable idea?

Resources
There are two finished soccer fields and a vacant lot for two more in Algonkian Park by the Potomac River, only10 min. away from the Trump National Golf Club in Washington DC. As you know, it is a gorgeous area; parents have the opportunity to play tennis or golf nearby while their children play soccer. With the added benefit of a swimming pool, we are looking at potentially the best (although a bit more expensive) summer camps, Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Trump Soccer Academy
If you would kindly agree, we are prepared to start with an indoor Trump Soccer Academy already this winter; in the spring, the Trump Soccer Academy members will be invited to join the new Trump Soccer League (TSL). TSL will have two groups of 8 teams each, boys and girls ages U12-U15; these are the years of crucial importance to strengthen the foundation, perfect skills and achieve excellence in sports.

Currently, I have approximately 120 children practicing soccer, as well as 8 referees who are also experienced players, 12 professional soccer coaches, among them Ivailo Iordanov, the personal trainer for Ronaldo (Real Madrid) and Nani (Manchester United), Florian Dupont (Servet Geneva), and Jose Raul Garcia(DC United). The most talented players will be bound by a contract with TSL; any potential transfer of these players to US or European clubs will be subject to this contract. Despite the economic slowdown worldwide, the best in soccer maintain a high price ranging from $50 mill for Dimitar Berbatov (Manchester United) to $90 mill for Ronaldo (Real Madrid) to approximately $100 mill for Rooney under his new contract. It is public knowledge that the sale of just one talented player from a leading club such as Ajax (The Netherlands) brings revenue sufficient to cover the team’s expenses for a whole season.

Location!
The future center for informal soccer (assuming it will be close to the Trump National Golf Club), has the perfect location. There are twelve cities nearby, all of them building soccer traditions for over 10 years now: Potomac Falls, Sterling, Ashburn, Chantilly, Centerville, Fairfax, Annandale, Vienna, McLean, Herndon, Reston, and Great Falls. All these cities are "one song" (5 min.) to "one half time" (45 min) away from the field where teams will play the next match. Imagine the joy of children and parents who would spend their weekend playing sports instead of wasting time on the road. Something else comes to mind: our tournaments in Virginia Beach and Atlantic City will become even stronger, if players and their families could use the amenities of the Trump hotels. This way we will close the cycle and build one big family for sports, business and benefit for all.

We can certainly survive without a Trump Soccer League, but what kind of life would that be, without the real soccer, without the great friend, with one dream less...

Dear Mr. Trump,
I have taken the liberty to outline our vision of a Trump Soccer League. The decision is in your hands. We will be more than happy to meet with your aides and discuss any additional questions you may have. Working with children is a noble investment. It has its risks, and I am prepared to take my part of the risks. Each page of your book, each page of your life has taught me exactly that.

Thank you so much for your time and attention.
Respectfully yours,
Dimitar Dimkov
